S190: Antique club Whitty chess set with box
In boxwood and ebony, kings 10.6cms.
Nice patina throughout, set feels very hand made and individual.
Knights are tall at ~7cms each and have longer tails.
Richard Whitty of Liverpool was a well known marker of sets in the 19th century.
