S223 : Antique European Coffee House Chess Set
Kings are 8.5cms tall. Circa 1900 probably turned and and carved in Austria/central Europe.
The knights are particularly nicely carved with flowing manes and vertical ears.
The set is made of fruitwood and staied fruitwood.
Comes in its original oak box with decorative metal strap hinge straps.
